Illinois Solar for All
The Illinois Solar for All (ILSFA) program brings the benefits of solar energy to income-eligible households, nonprofit organizations, and public facilities to help grow the state’s clean energy economy for all.
The ILSFA program provides incentives to develop new solar projects through contracts to sell Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) generated by projects to Illinois utilities and to the State of Illinois. RECs are the environmental attributes associated with the electricity production and are bought and sold separately from the electricity itself.
Explore the ILSFA visualizations to view solar projects that are energized and under development in Environmental Justice and Income-Eligible communities. The visualizations also showcase Energy Sovereignty projects that promote energy ownership. Through Energy Sovereignty projects, ILSFA hopes to empower local communities to control and reap benefits of solar over and above energy bill savings.
Through the ILSFA visualizations, visitors can see how the program is bringing affordable solar, more savings, and a brighter energy future to families and communities throughout Illinois.
